Five Men Accused Of Bringing Minors to Los Angeles For Prostitution
Five men were arrested in last week after local law enforcement agents suspected that they had brought a group of minors from the Inland Empire into Long Beach and North Hollywood to use as prostitutes. Darrius Sutton, Chad Phillips-Miller, Darius Burks, Leprinceton Burks and Edwin Franklin were all due in court to be formally charged with numerous crimes. All five men are expected to be charged with one felony count of conspiracy and one felony count of pandering. In addition, Sutton, who is 21 years old, is expected to be charged with rape by use of drugs and oral copulation of a person under 16 years of age while Burks, is expected to be charged with felony sexual penetration by a foreign object and Franklin is expected to be charged with felony unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Burks is 23 and Franklin is 24. Police reports indicate that the men brought groups of victims into the Los Angeles area for the purpose of prostitution, though the number and ages of the victims were not released. Three of the men, Sutton, Darius Burks and Leprinceton Burks are said to be gang members by officials from the Los Angeles Police Department. Investigators in the case are still gathering information and have appealed to the public to call if they have any additional information that may help.
