New Sex Crime Allegations Against Sandusky
Former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was arrested again last Wednesday after new allegations of sexual abuse surfaced from two new alleged victims. The embattled Sandusky, who assisted famed college football coach Joe Paterno for several years, is now facing 10 different victims who allege that Sandusky sexually abused them as children. According to reports, most of Sandusky's supposed victims were young boys who were participants in The Second Mile, a non-profit organization that Sandusky himself had created to assist at-risk youth. The two new victims, whose names have not been released, seem to follow a pattern in which they claim Sandusky first "groomed" them by offering gifts and taking the boys on outings to football games before beginning inappropriate behavior such as wrestling, rubbing or cuddling that, over time, escalated to sexual activity, including rape. Sandusky had been taken into police custody until he posted $250,000 bail and was released last Thursday. Though Sandusky faces as many as 50 charges of sexual abuse, he has maintained his innocence from the beginning. Pennsylvania State University football coach Joe Paterno was fired last month when it was discovered that he had information about Sandusky's alleged criminal behavior and never went to local law enforcement agents with it.
