Rivas Charged With Child Pornography

Fernando Rivas, a Cuban-born composer, pianist and music producer was charged with producing child pornography in a South Carolina Court yesterday. Rivas, who is 59, attended the famed Julliard School of Music in New York City and went on to work with singers such as Gloria Estefan, Celia Cruz and Cyndi Lauper. Rivas also worked for television shows such as "Sesame Street," and Disney's "Handy Manny." Rivas was charged with producing child pornography, as well as using a computer to transport child pornography across state and national borders. The composer pleaded not guilty and was released on $300,000 bail. Rivas has won two Emmy awards as well as a Grammy award.
