Sexual Assault Suspect Turns Himself In
The suspect in a sexual assault case in Valencia turned himself in to local law enforcement agents today. Casey Flynn Crockett, a 25-year-old Santa Clarita resident, was accused of assaulting an 11-year-old boy in the food court bathroom of the Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall this afternoon. According to police reports, Crockett assaulted the victim, who then fled and told his father. The victim's father is a worker in one of the mall's fast food restaurants. The victim's father then confronted Crockett, punching him in the face several times before mall security broke up the fight. Crockett fled, then turned himself in to local authorities, just hours after local police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had asked the public for their help in identifying and finding the suspect. Crockett reportedly works at a nearby fast food restaurant and is a frequent visitor to the mall. The victim was also a frequent visitor to the mall's food court in the afternoons after school since his father worked there. Crockett reportedly turned himself in to local authorities around 3 o'clock this afternoon after his mother told him local law enforcement agents were looking for him. No word has been given on whether Crockett has formally been charged with sexual assault or when he is due in court.
